The Dallas Modern Quilt Guild hosted a cool challenge this past month. They decided to have a raffle of sets of quilt blocks made my the members with a certain color scheme and improv piecing style. Each block you made counted as an entry for a set of blocks. So, the more you made, the more entries you got. I decided to make three for the challenge.
I really liked the first two but the third one was sort of a fail. I had this cool idea and then it didn\’t turn out like I wanted it to and it was too small.. Anyways, I added the orange border and it made it better but it still wasn\’t as cool as my other two blocks.
I didn\’t end up winning any of the blocks but that\’s fine, I\’m still excited to see what the quilts people make up with them will look like. There were 6 block sets given away I think so there should be some good variety. I\’m looking forward to some more cool things like this now that I finally took the leap to join.
Linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts!
Such a fun idea, maybe our guild needs to try that sometime…

I'm going to have to present this idea to our MQG, how fun. I like all three.
