So I decided to have a lazy weekend and a catch up Monday. I needed to finish some siggy blocks so I could mail off some bee blocks. I also decided to jump into my Sew Bee Joyful block, to get it out of the way. We had a 2-3 month window since we got the assignment so late but I don\’t like having things sitting around so I just went for it. We were mailed a selection of fabrics and asked to use flying geese or triangle in some way. This is what I came up with. I felt challenged by the fabric selection, a beach print and coordinating tone on tones. She said we could add from our stash but I took it as a challenge and only added 2 strips of solid brown on the edge, everything else was from the stash she sent. I like the block, I\’m not in love with the block, but I\’m happy with what I was able to do with such a unique fabric set. I also had finished one of my Hoop Up Swap pieces and needed to make a little somethin\’ somethin\’ to give my partner. I made this little pouch.
I used some leftover Henna Garden and an antique button, and lined it with grey quilters linen.
I also filled it with some goodies but I\’m not going to spoil that surprise! Right now my next thing will be working on my 3×6 bee blocks. This is the design in my colors, and finally I have all the solids I need to do the rest of my hive. We are working in all solids and I\’m excited to see what everyone comes up with!
I also worked on a charity quilt this weekend but the kit I had had a mistake in the fabrics and so I\’m going to have to play with it to make it work. I\’ll show pics of that one next time. Lastly, I am planning a quilt for my favorite cousin Tonya. She has decided on a black and white theme and wants silhouetted cats and some wonky stars. Here are the fabrics she has bought:
I excited to start playing with layouts, and will keep you posted on the progress! Linking up to:

Busy girl! I like how you interpreted those Sew Bee fabrics, they've been foxing me a bit, but I think I heard a clunk and smelled a bit of burning as an idea ground it's way through the back of my mind, so I may get there soon…Cute wee purse, and like the block you've chosen, you're obviously mainlining those geese right now!
