I was lucky enough to get to test Cosmic Burst, a new pattern from Distant Pickles! One of my coworkers is expecting a baby girl in November so this was the perfect chance to get that out of the way and also to test this awesome pattern!
The quilt top came together very smoothly. It\’s a forgiving pattern and is a great pattern to use for scraps, as most of the colored pieces are relatively small. I\’m very happy with how it turned out. So here it is!
I had 2 \”oops\” moments. And got to renew my friendship with my seam ripper. I quickly remembered why I didn\’t like being friends with her. The first oops was that I turned the bottom middle block the wrong way.
The second oops was that I turned two of the corner blocks the wrong way.
I\’ve made bigger mistakes and they were easy to fix so it wasn\’t too bad. Bree should have the pattern out by the end of the month I think so keep in touch if you\’re interested in it!
I've been enjoying seeing these pop up in a variety of different fabrics, all very different effects :o)
